The most inspiring place Ive ever visited was definitely Dresden, in Germany. I planned to stay there for just one or two days during my travel through europe, but actually stayed there for more than a week. Dresden was destroyed during WWII but it has been rebuilded and looks as beautiful as before it was destroyed. I stayed in a nice hotel, and visited most of the sights. Especially the Frauenkirche was fascinating in all of it's moments.
If you ever come to Germany, you HAVE TO vistit dresden.
